After all, women are often told that adding some squats to your exercise routine is one of the best things that you can do. Because of this, women often undertake mammoth challenges that involve 100 squats a day, but that doesn’t mean that they always see the changes they want. So, what if you could get on board with another exercise? This is the one exercise every woman should do that isn’t squats.

Getting those squats in

Squats are the way forward, right? They boost your booty, they train numerous muscle groups at the same time, and everyone preaches about then, so they must be the ultimate exercise move, shouldn’t they? Well, there’s no doubt about the fact that squats are beneficial to a healthy routine. Any form of exercise will aid your lifestyle, but squats are difficult to do properly. Because of this, some people may find that their squatting antics are actually harming their exercise routines or causing them unnecessary pain. So why not try another exercise move instead?

All about the deadlift

According to some experts, all women should aim to master the deadlift instead of the squat. This involves standing with your legs shoulder-width apart and using even a barbell or singular dumbbells. Of course, if you have never done a deadlift before, you might want to practice without any kind of weight to begin with. Then, all you have to do is bend your knees until your shins touch the bar while lifting your head up and then straightening your lower back. Once you have done this, take a deep breath in, hold it, and then stand up with the weight in tow. It may sound difficult, but it’s not as hard as it sounds.

Using all of the muscles

While squats do utilize a few muscles at a time, deadlifts use even more muscle groups at the same time. Not only does this force your legs to work, but it also forces your upper body, your back, and your arms to move simultaneously. It’s also considered to be much safer than a squat, and will ultimately make you leaner and stronger the more you master them. Deadlifts don’t need any specialist equipment, as you could even use bottles of water if you don’t have any weights handy. This means that you can incorporate them into your workout routine, whether you’re at the gym or whether you’ve just had to fit in a short home workout before going to work.

There are so many exercises that experts claim are perfect for women, but some of them just don’t work. So, if you have found that squats don’t exactly work for you, it might be time to incorporate deadlifts into your routine. At least give it a try, anyway.
