Meal prepping may take time, but it also saves time. Sure, you might have to spend a Sunday afternoon cooking up a storm and putting all of these meals into their designated Tupperware boxes, but that means that you’re sorted for the rest of the week. Most people assume that you have to cook these meal-prep ideas in the oven, but that isn’t the case at all. In fact, you don’t have to turn your oven on at all during your Sunday meal-prepping session.

Prepare some smoothie packs

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but there’s nothing worse than having to spend 45 minutes preparing your breakfast smoothie in the morning. After all, chopping up all of the fruits and vegetables takes precious time – and to be honest, we’d rather spend that extra time in bed. You could just prepare some smoothie packs instead, though. Simply grab some Ziploc bags and a pen and fill these bags with the ingredients that you’d like to put in each smoothie. Once you’ve done this, pop them in the freezer and empty the contents into your blender each morning.

Get your tofu ready

Whether you’re vegetarian and want to add some protein into your diet or whether you’re just a big fan of tofu, there’s no doubt about the fact that this particular food is pretty delicious. But did you know that it’s also super easy to meal-prep? During your meal-prepping session, cook up one or two blocks of tofu that will help you get sorted for the rest of the week. Tofu can be cooked on the stove and later added to any dish of your choice, from stir fry to salads and more.

Whip up some wholewheat pancakes

There’s nothing better than eating pancakes for breakfast, right? In fact, there’s nothing better than eating pancakes for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If you’re a fan of wholewheat pancakes, you’ll be happy to know that you can whip up some of these bad boys at the start of the week and then pop them in bags to put in the freezer. When you want to eat them, you can simply warm them up in the toaster and pour over your maple syrup in no time.

Make some soup freezer bags

Do you ever just crave soup? Well, you’re not alone. Soup can take hours to make from scratch, but it doesn’t have to. It’s now easier than ever to meal-prep your soup, and you can even make a different flavor for each day of the week. All you have to do is cut all of your vegetables and other ingredients up and place them in a freezer bag. When you fancy some soup, take out the bag of your choice, mix it up in a blender, and then heat on the hob. You could even eat it cold if you’re that way inclined.

Meal-prepping doesn’t require the oven to be on for hours every single weekend. In fact, some meal-prep recipes don’t require ovens at all.
